- Mark Twain

"Don't be so humble - you are not that great."

"I feel like Adam when he said to Eve, 'Back up, I don't know how big this gets'"
- Robin Williams (at the 71st Academy Awards)

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave"
- (John) Calvin Coolidge

"As soon as folk see my face on the movie screen they know two things: First, I'm not going to get the girl and second, I'll get a cheap funeral before the picture is over."
- Lee Marvin

"You know that look women get when they want sex? Me neither!"

Persistence:
There is no substitute for persistence! It cannot be supplanted by any other quality! Remember this in the beginning and it will hearten you when the going may seem difficult and slow. Those who have cultivated the habit of persistence seem to enjoy insurance against failure. No matter how many times they are defeated, they finally arrive up near the top of the ladder. Sometimes it appears there is a hidden guide whose duty is to test people through all sorts of discouraging experiences. Those who pick themselves up after defeat and keep on trying arrive; and the world cries, "Bravo! I knew you could do it!" The hidden guide lets no one enjoy great achievement without passing the persistence test. Those who can't take it simply do not make the grade. Those who can "take it" are bountifully rewarded for their persistence. They receive, as their compensation, whatever goal they are pursuing.
- Napoleon Hill

"In America, anybody can be president. That's one of the risks you take."
- Adlai Stevenson (1900 - 1965)

"Some editors are failed writers, but so are most writers."
- T. S. Elliot (1888 - 1965)

"Nothing is wrong with California that a rise in the ocean level wouldn't cure."
- Ross MacDonald (1915 - 1983)

Real Life Quotes of Chris Forsyth:

"I've always said that when I die, I wanted my gravestone to read, 'All Things In Moderation'. I've questioned that from time to time, because some of life's spicier moments exist at the extremes, but in general it's a maxim I believe in and have tried to live by."

"What I really love about acting is that I get to lose myself in and live the life of another character for a moment in time, and get paid to do that. It's very cathartic, and therapeutic. Looking inward isn't always easy, but exploring the human condition and human behavior is fascinating."

"As cold and heartless as Wall Street was, the one thing that it taught me was to run in the opposite direction of the herd mentality."

"I think we should give children a little more creative lattitude. Confining them in boxes defined by society's general consensus can squelch their dreams. Sure kids need some structure in the general sense, but they also need the freedom to develop into the unique individuals that they really are."

"I was definitely the nerdy kid growing up - not the prom king / football star, even though I think I was in denial at the time."

"Blue has always been my color - Oceans, Skies, and Blue Eyes!"

"I'm not after fame or fortune. It's a simple equation - I'm just doing what I love, and what I'm passionate about, every day."

"Howard Fine said it best, and I am paraphrasing, 'Every character you play can be found inside yourself, from light to dark. If you don't believe that, there is a part of yourself you either haven't found or don't want to discover'."

"I've always been a hopeless romantic."

"Yea, I'm shy. I prefer to say I'm a private person. I've learned to be ok with that."

"Children are the really gifted ones. They are raw, and emotionally available. They have a unique kind of energy about them, this pure sense of curiosity, an unadulterated fascination with the world around them. Learning how to hold on to that throughout life makes growing older a lot of fun."

"Music has always has been my drug of choice. It's a very powerful part of the way I experience life."

"At the end of your life, I think the only thing that will really matter is relationships....who you shared your life with, and the nature of the impact you had on others."
