BIOGRAPHY
As enigmatic as he is talented, Chris has always kept the details of his private life closely guarded. "There's no great hidden mystery to my life. My goal as an actor is to bring to the story a believable and convincing character with a unique point of view. The less you know about me, the easier it is for you to believe that I am really that character, that person in the story."
Chris was born the second of five children, and spent the better part of his youth growing up in the Midwest on a farm in rural Michigan. Both parents worked the farm, and his father also worked for the State Social Services Dept. after serving in the US Air Force to help make ends meet.
A passionate and driven artist his entire life, he started out musically at the age of 5 on the piano, and by the age of 8 was considered a highly gifted musician and vocalist. Chris continued to study, perform, and compete musically and theatrically while growing up, eventually learning to play more than a dozen instruments. He auditioned for and landed lead singer roles for several successful touring groups, including the Vagabonds, and landed leading roles in several musical theatre productions.
After university, Chris packed all his belongings and drove straight to New York City to pursue his theatrical and musical ambitions. He took a "day job" as a Stock Broker Trainee to pay the bills, while continuing to write and produce music. Oddly enough, he became one of the most successful brokers at the Manhattan firm within a few years, making a small fortune at a young age. However, his Wall Street success was the antithesis of his core being, and it left him completely unfulfilled. As fate would have it, with a turn in the markets shortly thereafter he lost everything he'd ever made, and more. Having grown up poor, he had now come full circle.
There was a silver lining however. The down-time gave Chris time to reflect and realize that what brought him real fulfillment in life was his love for the arts. With renewed focus and the passionate drive that's always been his trademark, he poured himself completely back into his true passions. In recent years, Chris has lived in New York, Chicago, and Austin TX where his career as a film actor first began to really flourish in the active indie film scene there. After relocating to Los Angeles in 2006 Chris was quickly signed by agents and his career has continued to grow with lead roles in a variety of independent films and television projects. In between films Chris is also active as a screenwriter, with a number of different projects in the works for both film and television. Musically, in addition to composing for film and television, he is currently in the recording studio working on recording and producing his first solo album, which he hopes to release in 2008.
